WotD: Stinfig- noun. An ancient mesopotamian form of tear gas grenade. Stinfigs were grown only in secured locations and cultivated for their peppery emission when cracked open. Law enforcement in mesopotamia were consistently cross-breeding to get a stronger stinfig, eventually able to clear out a village square with only two to three stinfigs. By the peak of the mesopotamian civilization, stinfigs were ruled (by Hamurabi, remember) inappropriate as a means of crowd dispersal, favouring instead trungeons and intimidation techniques still used today by riot police.
